A children's book blog built around the books.
Șotron cu Povești is a Romanian blog about children's books and the activities that come out of them, written by a teacher for parents and educators. The design keeps attention on the books. There are no ads, and the reviews, themed reading lists and workshop ideas are organised so a parent can find a good book for a five-year-old in a couple of clicks.
Content is organised the way parents look for children's books: by age, theme and occasion. Reviews, themed lists, workshops and a section for adults each have their own layout, and every review ends with an activity, since the blog is about what children do with a book after they've read it.
We designed and built it on WordPress, so the author writes and publishes on her own without touching code. A weekly newsletter collects recent reads and new posts. The site carries no ads and keeps a warm, quiet look, more like a bookshelf than a content site.
