The brief
Șotron cu Povești is written by Anna Mária, a teacher who has spent more than thirteen years around children and books. She reviews children's books honestly, groups them into themed lists and turns them into activities and workshops. Her readers are parents and educators looking for the right book for a child between two and twelve. The brief fit in one line: the books should be the loudest thing on the page.
Parents don't search for children's books the way a library catalogues them. They search by age, by theme and by what happened this week: a new sibling, the first day of school, a fear of the dark. The content is organised around those questions. Reviews, themed lists, workshops and a section for adults each have a clear home, and every review suggests something to do with the book afterwards, because on this blog reading carries on past the last page.
There are no ads, which was a design decision as much as a business one. With no banners competing for attention, the covers and illustrations carry the page, and the layout can stay warm and quiet.
The site runs on WordPress, so its author writes and publishes on her own without waiting for a developer. A weekly newsletter collects recent reads and new posts for readers who'd rather have the blog come to them.
Every truly wonderful book is a ticket to wonder.
